Most travelers need a visitor visa to travel to Canada. You may also need one if you’re transiting through a Canadian airport on your way to your final destination.
You must meet some basic requirements to get a visitor visa. You must:
A tourist visa (often referred to as a temporary resident visa) is an official document to prove that you are valid for a visit to Canada, which will be stamped on your passport.
To apply for a visitor visa, either online or on paper, you can visit the Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) website.
Before arriving in Canada, you must check if you need an eTA. Visa-exempt foreign nationals coming to Canada or transiting via a Canadian airport need an eTA, according to the latest entry criteria. There is no eTA required for U.S. citizens and people with a valid Canadian visa, Canadian citizens or permanent residents.
A Super Visa is a temporary resident permit that allows parents and grandparents of the permanent residents and Citizens to stay for up to 2 years in Canada per visit.
It is valid for up to 10 years.
A regular multiple-entry visitor visa is also valid for up to 10 years, but only allows stays of up to 6 months per visit.
